was asked to put together a food list for a friend coming to town for 3 days. Here are my top recommendations for experiencing the Portland food scene in a short amount of time.
Read MoreWelcome to my favorite part of the year!!! This is my first year creating a Gift Guide for you guys and it’s such a labor of love. As we all know 2020 hasn’t been the easiest year, but especially for the small local businesses. There are so many incredible companies and shops in Portland— I hope we can all choose to spend local as much as possible this season.
90% of this guide links to Portland businesses, or boutiques. Please note some have emblems that will tell you if the business is Black owned or Womxn owned. Happy shopping!
Read MoreI’ve checked a ton of donut shops around town and these five shops were the ones I would recommend if a friend or family member came into town. Each have their own unique donuts worth checking out!
Read MoreAs we all have been spending more time inside the past 5 weeks, it's meant more time in the kitchen. One of my favorite breakfasts is a well thought out toast. My go-to is to mash an avocado onto toasted bread and top with flaky sea salt, fresh black pepper, red chili flakes and extra virgin olive oil. But in the spirit of quarantine, and trying to find some small joys, I set out to make 6 savory and sweet toasts that are relatively easy, and beautiful.
I’m sharing six toast recipes that include some of my favorite flavor combinations—to bring comfort to myself and those around me.

Read MoreI really like the vibe of Pink Rabbit…it’s aesthetic might make you think for a second that you’re in an upscale-ish bar but the hospitality makes you feel right at home. You’ll know where to find me on a night out, wedged into one of those stunning booths with an excessively cute cocktail in hand chatting it up with a friend.
Read MoreWhat they do well is they take classic dishes we all know and love- Pad Thai, Eggs Benedict, Burgers etc.. and sprinkle some plant based fairy dust and which turns them vegan. I’m not kidding, it was one of those times when I was eating and didn’t care that it had zero animal products in it, because it tasted so damn GOOD.
Read MorePortland loves coffee- with a shop on every block it’s everywhere. What about its humble cousin, tea? In the Pacific Northwest, tea doesn't tend to be the focal point of cafe culture, but after trying all of @teabars creations for this week’s feature, i’m convinced I’m going to need a lot more tea in my life.

From a branding standpoint they pay attention to the details in the deisgn of their space- from the hand painted Strada machine, the bright aqua floors, the local ceramic cups and the bright bags of roasted coffee, Never provides a unique feel to their space. They roast their beans in Portland, Oregon and each blend has a careful attention to detail to the unique flavor profiles.

Read MoreI spent the past weekend in Seattle and was determined to deviate from my traditional go-to spots in the Emerald City. To my surprise, Seattle is so fish driven. Which makes sense as it’s a coastal city and also gets first pick of seafood along the West Coast. That’s an obvious statement I know, I guess I had never noticed how every restaurant in the city has fish on the menu. You can’t escape it, and I am not mad about it.
Here’s a list of some places I ate at in Seattle during my weekend there. It was lovely and nice to try some new places
